Runner-Runner Flush Seals Double for Zobian

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Garen Zobian moved all in from middle position for his last 145,000 and Phong Than Nguyen three-bet to 260,000 on the button. The blinds quickly folded and both hands were tabled.

Garen Zobian: {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Phong Than Nguyen: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Zobian was going to need to connect and the {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop paired his ten but he was still behind to Nguyen's pair of aces. The {4-Spades} hit the turn, giving Zobian a flush draw and the {2-Spades} river completed it, sending the pot Zobian as he remained in the tournament.

Yu Loses to Straight Flush

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Chien Chih Weng, Ben Yu, and a third player got all of the chips in the middle before the flop and Weng was at risk for about 310,000, covering the third player in the hand who had slightly less.

Player Three: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Chien Chih Weng: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Ben Yu: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Yu was in great shape, having both opponents dominated but the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop immediately gave Weng a flush. The {8-Clubs} hit the turn and the {j-Hearts} river further improved Weng to straight flush as she knocked one player out and doubled through Yu.

"I Got Lucky"

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Phong Than Nguyen raised to 50,000 in early position and Dave Woods called next to act. Vincent Bartello was in the big blind as he pondered his decision.

"This should be automatic," Bartello said, "Give me a minute."

"Take your time, if you tank one hour you'll bag for Day 2," joked Nguyen.

Eventually, Bartello tossed in a call and the three players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Bartello and Nguyen checked to Woods who bet 50,000. Only Nguyen called.

When the {q-Hearts} hit the turn, Nguyen quickly checked to Woods who continued for 50,000 once again. Nguyen folded and Woods said, "I got lucky." As he tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for two pair and the open-ended straight draw.

Deja Vu for Anderson

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

An orbit after Calvin Anderson eliminated Christian Calcano, he was reliving the past as Michael Helander who had taken Calcano's seat opened the button for 40,000. Anderson was in the small blind and raised to 385,000 before Helander announced all in for about 400,000. Anderson snap-called.

Michael Helander: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Calvin Anderson: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Anderson was ahead with ace-high and the board ran out {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, giving him top pair and sending Helander to the payout desk.

With most of the hand retold to PokerNews, the action started with a player in early position raising to 45,000. Allen Kessler shoved 400,000 into the pot and James Meadows re-shoved his 600,000 stack. Everyone else folded and they were left heads up.

James Meadows: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Allen Kessler: {a-}{k-}

"There was even an ace in the window!" Kessler announced about the flop come-out.

That flop gave Meadows a set with {a-}{q-}{10-} and the {5-}{5-} on the turn and river did nothing to help improve Kessler's hand.

Anderson Continues to Crush Dreams

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

Christian Calcano raised to 40,000 on the button and Calvin Anderson who is hot off his third-place finish in the World Series of Poker $1,500 Razz event for $49,557 jammed all in from the small blind. The big blind quickly folded and Calcano gave it some thought before dropping a chip across the line to call off his 600,000 stack.

Christian Calcano: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Calvin Anderson: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Anderson had two overs to Calcano's pocket pair but the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop missed both players as Anderson picked up a gutshot straight draw. The {k-Diamonds} turn was safe for Calcano but the {j-Diamonds} river sent him to the payout desk as Anderson continues to build a massive stack.

Michael Gragg raised before the flop and Ariel Albilia defended his big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Albilia check-called a bet of 45,000.

The {6-Diamonds} hit the turn and Albilia took the lead, firing 80,000 in the middle. Gragg didn't waste much time before folding as he showed {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Albilia returned the favor, flashing the {q-Clubs} as he scooped the pot.
