On a completed board of {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Randy Gonzales was faced with a bet from his opponent for 3,000. Gonzales then decided the price of poker was going up and he raised to 11,500.

His opponent quickly called and Gonzaled announced he had nine-deuce for a full house and showed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} for nines full of deuces and his opponent nodded and mucked.

Event #80: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack kicks off today at 12 p.m. local time at the 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally's & Paris Las Vegas.

Last year's iteration of this event saw Darrin Wright of the United States emerge victorious, defeating a field of 1,569 players to take home his first career WSOP bracelet and the top cash prize of $127,219. He defeated fellow American Victor Paredes in heads-up play to secure the title.

Players begin the day with 30,000 chips with blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. All levels will last 30 minutes. There will be a 20-minute break after every fourth level, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 12, expected to take place around 6:40 p.m. local time. Late registration will close at the end of the dinner break, at about 7:55 p.m. Players who are eliminated before registration closes are allowed two reentries.

Twenty-two levels will be played today, after which the remaining players will bag and tag their chips before returning for Day 2 on Thursday, July 14th, for a 1:00 p.m. restart and they will play down to a winner.
