Turmezey Gets Boat Paid Twice

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action was on the river as the board read {j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} with three players in the hand. Peter Turmezey led for 375,000 from the small blind. Mike Watson called in the big blind. Francois Pirault was in early position and thought about it for quite a while before also tossing in the call.

Turmezey tabled the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} full house which was good as both Watson and Pirault mucked.

Adrian State

The action folded to Adam Hendrix in the small blind who moved all in, covering Adrian State in the big blind. State snap-called and the cards were on their backs.

Adrian State: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Adam Hendrix: {q-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} giving State top pair and a good chance for a double up. On the {3-Clubs} turn Hendrix picked up a flush draw and created a sweat for State. The {q-Clubs} hit the river and the flush came through for Hendrix, eliminating State in 14th place.

Josephy Picks Off Mizrachi

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy

As the dust was settling after an all in at the adjacent table, there was a big hand brewing between Cliff Josephy and Michael Mizrachi.

The board read {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades} with a pot of around 1,200,000 in the center. From the big blind, Mizrachi moved all in to put Josephy to the test who got out of his seat and sat on his knees in the chair to think out the hand. He studied the three to a flush board and scoped out his longtime adversary who was across the dealer from him.

After about two minutes he spiked in the call. Mizrachi showed the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} which Josephy had bested with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and he took the large pot to change the dynamics at the table.

Paul Newey Eliminated in 16th Place ($22,421)

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

Paul Newey moved all in from the cutoff. Francois Pirault called on the button. Valentin Oberhauser re-jammed from the big blind, Pirault folded.

Paul Newey: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Valentin Oberhauser: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} to not give much to Oberhauser, but the turn was the {9-Clubs} to open a straight draw and the river came the {6-Diamonds} much to the dismay of Newey as Oberhauser made the straight to crack the queens in an unconventional manner and eliminate Newey as the first victim of the final two tables.

Nacho Barbero Eliminated in 17th Place ($22,421)

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading {8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. From the cutoff, Francois Pirault bet 275,000. Nacho Barbero was in the big blind and raised it up to 745,000.

Pirault took his time before announcing all in and Barbero snap-called.

Pirault saw the bad news as his {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} was dominated by the {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flopped straight of Barbero.

But the river was the {10-Hearts} to land a stunning blow to Barbero who looked like the wind was knocked out of him as he stood in shock as the stacks were counted down and it was confirmed he was eliminated just before the final two tables.

Francois Pirault: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, giving Pirault the nut-flush and McCormick was eliminated in 18th place.
