Hall on Just 10 Big Blinds

Level 20 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Lander Lijo opened for 300,000 from the cutoff and Galen Hall raised to 1,050,000. Lijo called.

The board came out {8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Hall continued for 800,000. Lijo called.

The turn brought the {9-Spades} and Hall would check over to Lijo, who needed to use a time bank chip before betting 825,000. Hall would shake his head and then fold.

With that and the level going up, Hall is on just 10 big blinds.

Brian Rast Eliminated in 5th Place ($347,658)

Level 20 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Brian Rast opened to 300,000 from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet to 800,000 from Joao Vieira on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Rast called to generate heads-up action heading to the flop.

On a flop of {3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} Rast checked and Vieira continued for 400,000. After some consideration Rast moved all in and Vieira snap called to put the five time bracelet winner at risk.

Brian Rast: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Joao Vieira: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Rast was behind but had the nut flush draw. The {k-Spades} turn changed little with the {5-Hearts} river sealing Rast's fate. He collects $347,658 for his efforts.

Hall Takes One Off Rast

Level 20 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Brian Rast opened to 300,000 on the button and was called by Galen Hall out of the big blind.

Hall checked to the preflop raiser on the {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop and then called when Rast continued for 275,000.

The board pairing {j-Diamonds} turn saw Hall check for a second time. Rast did not choose to slow down, instead firing off 800,000. Hall once again called.

Both players checked through the {6-Clubs} river and Hall showed down {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, which was good enough to take down the sizable pot.

Fedor Holz Eliminated in 7th Place ($203,107)

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Brian Rast opened in middle position and Fedor Holz shoved all in out of the small blind. Lander Lijo then re-jammed out of the big blind. Rast got out of the way and Holz was officially at risk.

Fedor Holz: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Lander Lijo: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Holz was in rough shape, needing significant help to survive. He leaped into a large lead following the {6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop but the {j-Diamonds} turn was a dagger to his chances, leaving the German pro hoping for a king on the river to chop. It was not to be, with the {7-Clubs} finding its way onto the felt and sending Holz out the door.

Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Brian Rast opened from the small blind for 400,000 and Joao Vieira called from the big blind.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Brian Rast continued for 310,000. Vieira called.

The turn was the {k-Clubs} and both players tapped it down.

The {6-Diamonds} arrived on the river and after Rast checked, Vieira put out a bet of 515,000. Rast went into the tank for a minute and 45 seconds, which required the use of three time bank chips. Eventually, Rast called.

Vieira showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the missed up-and-down straight draw while Rast flipped over {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the winner with fifth pair.
