Scully Rivers a Flush

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up with {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Clubs} on the table and around 25,000 in the pot. Ryan Scully, the small blind had fired for 12,000, putting the action on his opponent in the hijack.

"These dealers are killing me today!" his opponent had exclaimed when the {q-Clubs} hit the felt on the river, loud enough to be heard several tables away. He shared his disgust at a club.

"So you put me on a club draw?" Scully asked.

"Either ace three or clubs — one or the other." After much deliberation, the opponent put in the call, already frustrated at the prospect of losing the pot. He turned over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair, and Scully showed him {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, just as he had predicted, giving Scully the flush. His opponent got up and walked away to cool off a bit, as Scully stacked up his new chips.
