Nova Scotia Niner Finds a Double Up

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

The action was picked up on the river in a pot of roughly 25,000. The board was {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and the small blind led out for 20,000. Halifax, Nova Scotia native Eric Place was in the big blind and moved all in for 34,000 total.

The small blind looked sick but after some thought tossed in a chip for the call. Place showed {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a full-house and his opponent shook his head and showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for flopped nut-flush.

Place is part of a poker group called the Nova Scotia Nine which include Colin McHugh, Alex "Cheese9" Allison" and none other than WSOP bracelet winner Alex Livingston.
