Depaulo Getting Short

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ryan Depaulo opened to 10,000 from middle position and was called by a player in the big blind.

The big blind checked to the preflop raiser after the {9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop and Depaulo continued for 8,000. That bet did not force the big blind out of the hand as he instead flatted.

The {a-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn and once again the big blind checked. Depaulo was in no mood to slow down, firing off 27,000. The continued aggression was still not enough to shed his opponent who called.

The big blind checked for a third time on the {8-Diamonds} river and then snap-called when Depaulo pushed 50,000 into the middle. Depaulo showed down {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the flopped two pair but it was not good enough as the big blind flipped over {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the superior two pair. The pot cost Depaulo a good portion of his stack, leaving him relatively short.
