Chew Gets Aces to Pick Off an Opponent

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

An early position player was all in for 13,500 and was up against Nelson Chew in the big blind.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Nelson Chew: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Chew scored the knockout. Afterward, the table said this was the third time today Chew has picked up pocket aces, a steady theme at his end of the table.

"I had them once," a player to Chew's left said.

"I had them twice, but one time I was lying," joked the player to his right.

Monicatti Back to Starting Stack

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

The hijack opened to 700 and was called by the cutoff, button, and Michael Monicatti in the small blind. The big blind decided it wasn't enough and put in a raise of 4,000.

The cutoff and Monicatti both called.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and the big blind continued for 3,500. While the cutoff folded, Monicatti raised to 12,500.

The big blind scoffed, looked as his cards, and slammed them into the muck in frustration.

Monicatti, who was on the losing end of a hand involving a Royal Flush in Level 1, is now back to around starting stack.

Foxen Takes A Hit

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, Kristen Foxen in the small blind was up against a player on the button. With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Foxen checked and her opponent led out for 7,000 into a pot of roughly 16,500. Foxen gave her decision some thought but ended up making the call to send the two players to the river.

On the {8-Spades} river Foxen checked once more and her opponent did not think for long before checking back. The button player turned over {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for trips, a hand that Foxen could not beat, sending her stack sliding down the chip counts.

One For Former NFL Great Winfield

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Antoine Winfield
Antoine Winfield

Antoine Winfield is known for his ability on the gridiron, but he's putting his grinding skills to the test here in the Main Event.

With 800 in the middle on the {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, the small blind led for 500 and Winfield called.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Winfield called another 2,000 from the small blind.

On the {q-Clubs} river, the small blind slowed down with a check and Winfield pounced on that like he would an errant throw from a quarterback. Winfield fired out 5,000 and the small blind gave it up.

He's just under-starting stack in the early hours of the day.

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

The flop came {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Ida continued for 1,700. The cutoff called.

On the {2-Spades} turn, Ida fired again for 4,300. The cutoff took his time before putting in the call.

The river brought the {q-Clubs} and both players tapped the table.

The cutoff confidently flipped over {10-Spades}{8-Spades} but was left shaking his head in visible frustration as Ida turned over {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for the rivered top pair.
