Weis Knocked Out by Rebei

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Oliver Weis
Oliver Weis

A raise to 300,000 was in front of Karim Rebei in the small blind and Oliver Weis then made it 1,200,000 to go from ane arly position. Rebei pushed all-in with the slightly superior stack and Weis called for around 4,800,000.

Oliver Weis: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Karim Rebei: {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

"I take a king on the river ... or maybe on the flop," Rebei joked right before the flop fell {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Nothing changed on the {a-Spades} turn and the {2-Hearts} river to send a gutted Weis to the payout desk.

At almost the same time, Timothy McDermott was also eliminated as the field was reduced further.

Zhang Crashes And Burns Out Of Contention

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Zilong Zhang
Zilong Zhang

Zilong Zhang opened to 200,000 from middle position and was called by Cedrric Trevino in the big blind.

Trevino checked on the {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop and then raised to 470,000 when Zhang continued for 180,000. After some thought Zhang called.

The {6-Clubs} turn saw Trevino take over the betting lead, firing off 1,640,000, enough to force Zhang all in. After tanking for nearly two minutes, Zhang called it off to put himself at risk.

Zilong Zhang: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Cedrric Trevino: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Zhang was in bad shape as many of his potential outs were covered by Trevino holding a club. The river bricked out {k-Diamonds}, ending what has certainly been a memorable main event journey for Zhang, though one that will inevitably be tainted with disappointment considering he came into the day with nearly double the tournament average.

Cervantes Holds to Double Through McDermott

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Rudy Cervantes and Timothy McDermott got all of their chips in the middle preflop and it was Cervantes at risk for around 1,750,000. The cards were tabled and they were off to the races.

Rudy Cervantes: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Timothy McDermott: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Cervantes was still out front with his pair of tens. The {9-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and McDermott was down to six outs.

"Barry Greenstein one time!" McDermott cheered, hoping for the classic ace on the river. However, it was the {4-Clubs} that completed the board and Cervantes survived elimination.

Damian Salas was all in for 2,170,000 and up against Seungmook Jung.

Damian Salas: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Seungmook Jung: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The {4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop gave Jung a pair, but he improved no further as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The 2020 Main Event champion loudly clapped his hands as he secured a double up.

Hannawa Doubles Through Paddock

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Danny Hannawa ended up getting his 1,175,000 chips in from the small blind and was at risk against Robert Paddock on the button.

Danny Hannawa: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Robert Paddock: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Hannawa held a slightly better ace, as the dealer spread the {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop to provide chop outs. The {j-Clubs} turn brought more of a sweat, but the {7-Diamonds} harmlessly completed the board to secure Hannawa's double.

Semeghini No More

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

David Diaz had previously doubled through Rodrigo Semeghini with kings versus queens and both then got their chips in again shortly after. This time, it was a flip with the ace-ten of the Brazilian and the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} of Diaz.

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Diaz was the only one with a diamond in the hand to deal the final blow.

Duek Turns Up the Heat on Taylor

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Duek three-bet to 500,000 from the small blind over a button raise by Andy Taylor, and Taylor called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Duek continued for 350,000. Taylor came back with a raise to 850,000 and Duek stuck around to see the {a-Hearts} on the turn.

Duek came out firing again, this time pushing forward a bet of 1,100,000. Taylor went into the tank for several minutes before eventually deciding to lay his hand down.

Cowboys Hold for Diaz

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

David Diaz opened to 175,000 under the gun and Matija Dobric three-bet to approximately 490,000 from one seat over. Rodrigo Semeghini then four-bet jammed from the next seat over for approximately 2,060,000, and action folded back to Diaz who called all in for 1,170,000. Dobric thought about his decision but ultimately folded.

David Diaz: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Rodrigo Semeghini: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Diaz had the superior premium pocket pair, and the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to secure his double.

"No quads over there?" a player asked Dobric. Dobric shook his head, while Diaz collected the pot.

Kunze Doubles Through Mckellar

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Tom Kunze faced a raise to 175,000 by Pierce Mckellar and made it 475,000 to go. The four-bet shove by Mckellar followed and Kunze snap-called for the 2,975,000 he had behind.

Tom Kunze: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Pierce Mckellar: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

There was no shenanigans on the {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} board and that ensured the double-up for the GGPoker qualifier.

Paddock Scores Double-Up Through Sabat

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Robert Paddock was all-in for the last 1,045,000 and needed help with his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}, as Eddy Sabat was well ahead with the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop provided some further outs and while the {2-Spades} turn was a blank, Paddock got there thanks to the {j-Diamonds} river.
