It took just a couple of hands for heads-up play to conclude after Julien "StepUpPoker" Perouse had doubled through Calvin "projector52" Anderson a few hands prior when play was four-handed. After Perouse busted the fourth and third place finishers, he had a more than 8-to-1 chip lead. He won a hand or two heads-up, leaving Anderson on 950,000. Cards were on their backs after Anderson jammed his button the next hand.

Calvin "projector52" Anderson: {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Julien "StepUpPoker" Perouse: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The board fell {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to bust Anderson in second place, and crown a new WSOP champion.
