A side pot was created when Hellmuth bet 100,000 on a board of 2♣A♥5♣. His opponent called and the K♠ peeled on the turn. Both players checked and the 9♠ hit the river.
Another round of checks prompted Hellmuth to turn over J♠J♣, his opponent turned over the J♥J♦ and, ironically for Hellmuth, Tom Bona rolled over the 9♥9♦ for the main pot. The jacks chopped the side.
