Maimone Makes a Cautious Check-Back
Level 13
: Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Thomas Boivin opened to 50,000 in the hijack and Nick Maimone just flat-called on the button. The flop came A♥K♠2♦ and both players checked to the 8♠ on the turn.
Boivin led out with a bet of 230,000 on the turn and Maimone just called to see the 3♦ on the river. Boivin checked this time and Maimone sat up in his chair. "This isn't right," he said as he knuckled the table.
Boivin flipped over Q♠10♠ for a missed combo draw while Maimone showed A♦K♥ for top two pair.
