Elias Finds a Double Up
Level 22
: Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
The action folded to Frank Funaro in the cutoff who ripped all in with three shorter stacks behind him. Darren Elias woke up with a hand on the button and called off his stack of 1,825,000. The blinds folded and the two hands were tabled.
Darren Elias: A♣Q♦
Frank Funaro: Q♥8♦
Elias found himself in a dominating position and the flop of J♠7♥4♦ left it that way. The 9♣ on the turn gave Funaro a straight draw but the 2♥ on the river secured the double-up for Elias.
