Beretta Makes Sick River Call
There was a late position open to 24,000. The player on the button called and Joaquin Beretta defended his big blind. The players were off to a flop three ways.
The 7♥3♦9♥ flop landed and play checked around. The 2♣ hit the turn and Beretta opted to lead for 37,000. The preflop raiser made the call and the button folded.
The A♠ river landed and it seemed that Beretta recognized it was a bad card for him as he slowed down and checked. The late-position player didn't waste more than a few seconds before ripping it in for 107,000 effective.
Beretta immediately looked both suspicious and frustrated. He stayed in the tank for over two minutes before eventually making the call.
The late-position player knuckled the table indicating a good call and flips over Q♥8♥ for a missed flush draw and Beretta tabled 10♦9♦ for second pair and sent the player to the rail.
