Josh Arieh raised on the button and Daniel Alaei three-bet out of the small blind for Arieh to call. Alaei bet the K♠5♥3♥ flop and J♣ turn, earning a call from Arieh both times. He also bet the K♥ river and then called a raise, but mucked upon being shown the A♥Q♥ for the ace-high flush by Arieh.
In the last hand before the break, Talal Shakerchi raised and James Obst defended his big blind. Obst check-called the A♠Q♠5♣ flop and the 7♠ turn. They checked the 7♣ river and Obst won the pot with the Q♣4♠ for queens and sevens,
