The 7-2 Game is Not On

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

There was an open in late position to 325,000. Action then made it to Patrick Viret in the small blind who went all in. James Polanski was in the big blind and was short enough that he was forced all in by the blind and ante. The late-position player folded and the blinds were off to a full board with Polanski all in.

James Polanski: 72
Patrick Viret: KK

The 496 flop left Viret in great shape to scoop. The 3 turn still left Polanski with just four outs to a five. The 5 brought the worst starting hand in poker right to the top to beat Viret's cowboys. Polanski got a double and some much needed life in the Seniors championship.

A few hands later Ramdin ended up all in and at risk against Ron Fetsch.

Victor Ramdin: AJ
Ron Fetsch: KK

The full board read 3Q87Q and Ramdin was sent to the rail.

Four Bet from Allison

Level 30 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

The action was opened under the gun by David Allison to 460,000. It folded to Amin Mostafavi in the big blind who three-bet to 1,460,000. Action was back on Allison who went into the tank for a moment but eventually landed on a four bet to 2,900,000.

Mostafavi had a huge decision but eventually knuckled the table and returned his cards to the dealer. Allison brought in a huge pot without having to see a flop and has plenty of chips to put the pressure on.

Kolberg Trap Backfires

Level 30 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Katherine Kolberg limped from middle position. Gordon Eng bet 400,000 from the small blind and the big blind called. Kolberg responded with raise to 1,200,000 which was called by Eng and the big blind folded.

The flop of K72 saw Kolberg bet 1,500,000 and was called by Eng. The 5 came on the turn and Kolberg announced all-in for 4,260,000 Eng snap-called and Kolberg responded "Shoot! You got me!"

Katherine Kolberg: 99
Gordon Eng: KK

Eng flopped a set and slow-played to perfection and received all of Kolberg's chips. The 5 completed the board and Eng was convinced that Kolberg had pocket aces the way that she played the hand.

Action went three ways to the flop, which came 6QJ.

David Thompson checked from the big blind. Patrick Viret led out from middle position and was promptly raised by Matthew Gott.

Thompson got out of the way, Viret put in another raise, Gott went all in and Viret called with a covering stack.

Matthew Gott: AK
Patrick Viret: 1010

The turn brought the 10 giving Gott the Broadway straight. But a Q on the river paired the board, making a full house for Viret and knocking Gott out.
