Morris Rivers Trip Nines

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Arthur Morris limped under the gun and Kosei Ichinose raised to 40,000 from a couple of spots to his left. Both Christoph Cannuli and George Abi-Zeid called in the blinds, as well as Morris.

The flop of Q94 was checked through by all players and the 3 hit the turn.

The 9 paired the board on the river and Morris checked before Ichinose checked back.

Morris tabled 9886 for trip nines and Ichinose was in the motion of mucking as Morris asked if just a nine was good. Ichinose flashed [ahksqsx], letting him know it wasn't as the dealer pushed the pot to Morris.

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

With about 300,000 already in the middle the flop read A108 and Oswin Ziegelbecker pushed a stack and a half of red chips across the line. Roman Verenko was the only opponent in the hand and took some time before calling off the rest of his stack of about 75,000.

Roman Verenko: QQ54
Oswin Ziegelbecker: KJ97

Verenko's queens were the best hand at the time but he wasn't able to fade the wrap of Ziegelbecker as the board completed with the J turn and A river.
