Katz Shows No Mercier
Level 9
: Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
On a three-way flop of 3♠6♣10♠, short-stacked Jason Mercier moved all in and Cary Katz made the call while Nick Schulman got out of the way.
Jason Mercier: Q♥10♥9♣7♦
Cary Katz: A♣K♦10♦7♣
"Ok, at least you don't have a flush draw," Mercier said as the dealer prepared the cards, with both players showing a pair of tens, but Katz with the superior kicker.
The board ran out Q♣A♥ to give Katz two pair on the river to win the pot, busting Mercier.
"Noooo, that is not how I wanted that to go," he groaned as he wished the table good luck and made his exit.
