Negreanu Chops With Madsen, Won't Bet on Hennigan

Christopher Vitch called the bring-in and Daniel Negreanu completed as Jeff Madsen and Yueqi Zhu called before Vitch got out of the way.

"Don't see that every day," Vitch said about his limp-fold.

"That's what happens when you see these two are in a pot!" Negreanu said about his callers.

Zhu led out after pairing on fourth street and Madsen and Negreanu both called. All three players then checked on the next two streets.

Negreanu bet on seventh street and only Madsen called. Negreanu showed ace-king-high and a low to take the high as Madsen had him pipped for the low pot.

As the dealer split the pot, John Hennigan took a seat and Allen Kessler asked from another table if Negreanu would be interested in buying him as part of a side bet.

"Who, this guy? He might just get up and leave in the middle of the tournament!" Negreanu exclaimed.

"That's the smartest thing anyone's said all summer," laughed Hennigan.

After seeing the showdown, Hennigan added, "By the way, I won't be buying you."

On seventh street, Tushnet check-called another bet from Richey. Tushnet would get the high with a full house, showing K♥K♦7♠, while Richey won the low with Q♣5♣2♦.

Seiver's Flush Scoops Rubin

Jared Rubin brought in and Scott Seiver completed. Fourth street was then checked by both players before Rubin bet his paired board on fifth street, getting a call from Seiver.

The same action occurred on sixth street and Rubin put in one more bet on seventh as well. However, this time Seiver responded with a raise, which Rubin swiflty called.

Seiver showed 10♥9♥8♥ for a flush and Rubin could neither show a better high hand nor a low hand, awarding the full pot to Seiver.

Kessler Can't Get Rolling

Allen Kessler is down to just two chips as he has been unable to get anything rolling on Day 1.

Kessler lost a decent pot early when he folded rolled up eights as an opponent showed three open jacks, and Kessler claims to have lost two other hands that he started rolled up.

"Almost seems impossible," Kessler wrote on Twitter.

"Three aces," Negreanu said as he revealed trips to win the pot.

Allen Kessler won't be getting his 228th WSOP cash as he was eliminated shortly before the start of Level 6.

In a hand posted to Twitter, Kessler showed that his pair of aces couldn't hold up against an opponent's straight.

"That's the worst I've run in any event in quite some time," wrote Kessler.
