Pu Catches Cornell's Bluff

Weiran Pu opened to 1,000,000 from the button and was called by Tyler Cornell in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of K♣7♠7♥, and Pu bet 800,000. Cornell check-called and checked again on the turn 3♦. Pu checked as well to find the 5♦ on the river.

This time, Cornell bet 2,800,000 with J♠10♥. Pu took 30 seconds to think about this move, and called with 2♠2♣, catching Cornell's bluff.

The flop came A♣8♣3♥. Pu checked and called when Garagnani moved all in for his last 325,000 to put himself at risk.

Garagnani was in bad shape against a bigger ace and found no improvement on the 5♣ turn and 7♦ river, ending his deep run while Pu ascended into the chip lead.

Szecsi Cracks Nines to Extend Lead

Weiran Pu limped in from the small blind and Norbert Szecsi opted to check.

Both players checked the 8♠Q♠7♥ flop, leading to the 7♣ on the turn. Pu checked, Szecsi bet 450,000 and Pu made the call.

The river came the 10♠. Pu check-called another bet from Szecsi, this time for 1,400,000.

Szecsi tabled Q♣4♥ which was enough to win the pot versus Pu's 9♠9♣ and extend Szecsi's lead over his two opponents.

Szesci Back In First Place

Norbert Szecsi was in the big blind when Weiran Pu opened to 900,000 from the small blind. Szecsi called, and a 7♥9♥5♦ board appeared on the table.

Pu stopped his aggression at this point as he checked. Szecsi took this opportunity to bet 700,000. Pu called and checked once again on the turn J♥. Szecsi checked back.

On the river 8♠, Pu took the lead again and added 1,100,000 chips to the pot with K♦J♠ and a pair of jacks. What he didn't know is that Szecsi hit a straight on the river with 10♥10♣. The Hungarian player called and took the pot.

Thanks to this hand, Norbert is back in the lead with 19,500,000 chips.

Pu Passes Szecsi after Four-Bet Pot

Weiran Pu opened to 700,000 from the button and Norbert Szecsi three-bet to 2,250,000 from the small blind. Tyler Cornell four-bet to 4,300,000, forcing Szecsi to fold his Q♣J♠ while Pu took down the pot uncontested with just K♣2♣.

Stacks are very close now between the top three players, with a difference of only three big blinds between them.

Fans Welcome to Attend Tomorrow's Celebration of Life for Doyle Brunson

Fans are welcome to come to celebrate the life of the late poker legend Doyle Brunson at Horseshoe Las Vegas on July 2 at 11:30 a.m.

Many high-profile poker players will speak at the memorial, which will take place inside the Jubilee Theater near the Horseshoe poker room, about a two-minute walk from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament area.

Brunson, a 10-time WSOP bracelet winner and 1988 Poker Hall of Fame inductee, passed away last month at 89. He left behind quite a legacy in poker and will forever be remembered as one of the all-time greats.

Some former Brunson opponents and long-time friends such Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and Dewey Tomko will speak at the event. Jack Binion, former owner of Binion's Horseshoe, the original site of the WSOP, will also give a speech.

Garagnani was well ahead with the higher pocket pair. Rich failed to find a four on the 8♠J♥2♥5♥8♥ flop and was sent to the rail while Garagnani began to close the gap between himself and the other three players.

Szecsi Folds And Cornell Takes The Chiplead

Everybody folded to Weiran Pu, who limped in the small blind. Norbert Szesci simply checked in the big blind to see the flop 6♦3♠K♥, where both players checked.

On the turn Q♦, Pu bet 300,000, and Szesci called. Then on the river, Pu placed a bet of 1,750,000 with K♦4♥ for a set of kings. This time, it was too much for Szesci with A♦8♥, who folded.

After this hand, Szesci's stack decreased to 18,500,000, making Tyler Cornell the new chipleader of the tournament with 19,400,000 chips.
