Obst Shoves Through Simao

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Joao Simao raised to 15,000 and James Obst defended his big blind. He then check-called a bet of 15,000 on the Q102 flop. Following the 2 turn, Obst check-raised from 17,000 to 47,000 with Simao calling. That led them to the J on the river.

Obst moved all-in for 132,000, which sent Simao deep into the tank. Several minutes passed before Simao said "I have a very strong feeling that you are bluffing queen-ten," and folded a few seconds later.

Hoenig Silences Morozovs

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Mihails Morozovs opened for 25,000, committing almost all of his remaining short stack. David Prociak reraised to 50,000 before Ryan Hoenig four-bet to 175,000.

Morozovs called, Prociak got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

Mihails Morozovs: A1083
Ryan Hoenig: AAJ3

Morozovs was trailing from the start and could not gain any ground with the board showing K59610, ending his run while leaving Hoenig with a healthy stack.

Vladimir Belekhov
Vladimir Belekhov

Vladimir Belekhov raised to 15,000 in the hijack and Phillip Hui called on the button. Kosei Ichinose then moved all in from the small blind and Belekhov isolated with a repot, as Hui flung his cards with a lot of frustration and force into the muck.

Kosei Ichinose: AQQ10
Vladimir Belekhov: AJ93

The board ran out K62K8 and they chopped it up.

Soon after, Belekhov got it in against Senovio Ramirez III.

Vladimir Belekhov: A1052
Senovio Ramirez III: AAQ6

The QJ37K runout gave Belekhov broadway for the knockout.

Chidwick Doubles Through Radanov; Negreanu on the Rise

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick got it in for 117,000 with the AA43 and he was up against the AKQJ of Damjan Radanov when top set clashed with the nut flush draw on the A95 flop. The 5 turn locked up the double for Chidwick with aces full to make the 9 river a formality.

Also on the rise is Daniel Negreanu, who knocked out Ari Engel not long ago. Negreanu iterated at the table that he had only three-bet twice before with aces and then apparently picked up double-suited aces against Engel.

Toma Earns Three Quarters Against Shak

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Three ways to the J42 flop, the action checked to Tsugunari Toma and he bet. Dan Shak raised the pot to force out a third player in the hand and Toma then jammed for 141,000, earning a call from Shak with the covering stack.

Tsugunari Toma: AJ73
Dan Shak: A10103

"Yeah, I was afraid of that," Shak declared with cards on their backs. He earned just one quarter of the pot following the J turn and 7 river runout but avoided getting scooped entirely.

Banducci Builds Through Jaffee

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jared Jaffee and Michael Banducci were heads up on a runout showing 363JQ.

Jaffee led out for 50,000 into a pot of about 85,000 but was facing a raise once Banducci bet enough to put his opponent all in. Jaffee took some time before making the fold, allowing the Day 1 chip leader added to his stack.

At a nearby table, Dan Shak doubled his stack at the expense of Carlos Guerrero who was eliminated shortly after.
