Borland Doubles Through Vela, Vela Left Short

Jim Murray

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Michael Vela raised to 75,000 from early position and James Borland moved all-in from the button for roughly 250,000, with Vela making the call.

James Borland: K♦K♣
Michael Vela: A♦10♦

Vela wouldn't fair well on the J♣2♠J♠ flop, but would find some life on the 10♣ turn.

However, the Q♥ river would fail to connect with Vela's hand, securing the double for Borland.
