Kusumowidagdo Dodges Death

Level 4 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Justin Kusumowidagdo relayed a hand to PokerNews after the fact:

Pete Chen opened from middle position to 6,000 and Kusomowidagdo three-bet to 22,000 from the small blind, but then Noah Bronstein four-bet to 52,000.

Chen then ripped it all in for 162,000 and now Kusumowidagdo was in a tough spot and went deep into the tank.

After a good while of intense thought, he made the fold and Bronstein snap-called, putting himself at risk.

Pete Chen: QxQx

Chen was in trouble with his queens but got all the help he needed as a queen appeared on the flop and held for him to win the huge pot while Bronstein was eliminated.

Kusumowidagdo said that he was tanking with ace-king and that these raises smelled very strongly of aces or kings, so that's how he was able to get away from his premium holding with his tournament life.
