Lococo Out After Getting Kings Cracked
Level 6
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Alejandro Lococo opened to 1,600 from under the gun and Steve Wakeman defended from the big blind.
Both players checked the K♠8♦6♠ flop leading to the Q♠ on the turn. Wakeman bet 2,000 and Lococo made the call.
Wakeman fired again on the A♦ river, this time for 4,000. Lococo raised to 16,000 and Wakeman quickly made the call.
Lococo tabled K♦K♣ for top set on the flop but Wakeman revealed J♠2♠ for a jack-high flush to take the pot down, leaving Lococo short-stacked with about 12,000 chips left.
Lococo was eliminated a few hands later. According to the players at his table, he got his last chips in with 10x8x suited on a ten-high flop against pocket queens and failed to improve.
