Hero Called into Oblivion

The last member of Team PokerNews has been eliminated from the $250 Daily Deepstack.

After being reduced to 60,000 at the 3,000 big blind. I looked down at A♦5♥ in the big blind. The early position player limped before the player in middle position made it 8,000. I called and so did the limper.

The original raiser continued for 6,000 on the 3♦4♣3♠ flop and was called in two spots. The 7♦ turn then checked through to the 8♠ river.

With 42,000 behind, I moved all in, and was met with a snap-fold from the early position player. The middle position player asked for a count and went deep into the tank. Despite my best poker face, my opponent called as the bigger stack.

I sheepishly turned over my raggy-ace and was stunned to see I was hero-called by A♠J♠, which was enough to take the pot and mark my demise.

That's the end of my time in the Daily Deepstack, but best of luck to the 100 or so players remaining.
