Kakon Falls Short; Eliminated Shortly After

William Kakon had just run into the aces of Alex Keating a couple of hands prior to fall short-stacked and was back in the mix as he raised under the gun. Frank Yakubson three-bet next to act, and Nick Caltabiano called in the big blind. Kakon called for his last 30,000.

When the 10♣8♦4♦ flop hit the felt, Caltabiano quickly check-folded to a bet from Yakubson.

Both players flopped a pair but Yakubson was ahead with his pair of tens. The 3♥ turn and 5♠ river were no help for Kakon as he stood up from the table.

Budovsky Sends Welsh Home to His Wife

"I told my wife i would make it to dinner earlier, but now I can only make it to dessert," birthday boy Kerry Welsh joked as he put most of his chips into the middle preflop and Daniel Budovsky just called.

On the flop A♦7♥8♣, Welsh moved the rest of his chips in and Budovsky quickly called.

"I think I send you to your wife this time," he said as he rolled over A♥8♠ for two pair.

"Yeah, I think you got it," Welsh replied as he tabled 5♣5♠, needing some help.

The runout of J♣4♠ changed nothing and Budovsky was awarded the pot while Welsh went off to celebrate his birthday with his wife, now $3,024 richer.

On a heads-up flop of Q♥4♣8♥, Lucas Wagner checked, Thom Werthmann bet, Wagner raised, and Werthamnn called.

On the turn 6♣, Wagner bet and Werthmann just called to see the A♥ on the river. Wagner bet again, and Werthman called and tabled A♦6♦ for a rivered two pair, but then Wagner showed 4♥6♥ for a rivered flush to take down the pot.

Left short, Werthmann got it all in preflop the very next hand against David "Bakes" Baker, who covered.

Both Elliott and Yam checked it down through the whole runout of the 7♠9♣A♥7♣3♣ board. Shoreman showed the 10♥5♥, which didn't hit anything on it. Elliott tabled the 2♥2♦ for a pair of deuces to claim the pot as Yam mucked his hand and Shoreman got up and exited the tournament area.
