Welcome back to Day 2 of the 2024 World Series of Poker Event #25: $3,000 Limit Hold'em (6-Handed)!
After 10 levels were completed on the opening day, just 76 players bagged up chips and will be returning to the felt for Day 2. Leading the pack will be Brian Tate who finished Day 1 with an impressive 327,000 chips while the only other player to eclipse the 300,000 chip mark was Alex Keating with 306,000.
Although having a big stack in this type of event will certainly have its advantages, applying pressure with it is not the same as a no-limit event. Some other names to keep an eye on toward the top of the leaderboard include defending champ Jason Daly (265,000), recent and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi (128,000), WSOP HoFer Phil Hellmuth (168,000), WSOP Main Event Winners Joe McKeehen and Koray Aldemir (154,000), Matt Glantz (125,000), and David ‘ODB’ Baker (193,000).
The action resumes at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday in the Horseshoe Event Center, where the players will continue to battle for the gold. Blinds will begin at 2,000/4,000 with limits at 4,000/8,000 and the plan is to complete ten levels, with a 15-minute break every two levels and a 1-hour dinner break after level 18.
The bubble is expected to burst at some point today with 38 players reaching the money. A min-cash in this event will be worth $6,024 but the lion's share of the $662,160 prize pool will be up for grabs when Day 3 rolls around. The winner will be taking home $148,635 along with the WSOP gold bracelet.
Keep it tuned in here as the PokerNews live reporting team will have all your live updates throughout the next couple of days en route to crowning a champion.

Day 2 of Event #25 is officially underway as the dealers have been instructed to shuffle up and deal.
Here's a name you'd better start learning the rest of the summer — Darius Samual. That isn't a household name in poker yet, but it will be soon.
The poker player from England entered the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) with less than $100,000 in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob. Twelve days into the series, there's an argument to be made that he's one of a few "players to beat" regarding WSOP Player of the Year.
And, here's what's really crazy — Samual gambled half his poker bankroll in one event just to get to this point.
On the A♥6♥3♣4♥ turn Matthew Woodward fired out a bet and Alex Keating quickly called.
The 10♥ completed the board on the river, and Woodward tossed another bet across the line. Keating matched the bet quickly to see the Q♥J♥ of Woodward before mucking his hand.

Ken Deng checked the 7♠7♦5♦ flop and Joe McKeehen made a bet. Deng called.
The dealer dropped the Q♦ on the turn, and Deng check-folded to another bet from McKeehen.

In the 835th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway is joined by poker pros Shaun Deeb and Josh Arieh, who fill in as special co-hosts at Level 9 in Las Vegas where the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is happening now!
Hear about how Fortnite helped them form Team Lucky alongside Matt Glantz and reigning WSOP Main Event champ Daniel Weinman, Arieh's Poker Stake venture, and their thoughts on the Poker Hall of Fame, including Scott Seiver's chances of getting in after he recently won his fifth gold bracelet.
They also weigh in on two hot topics from this week in poker — whether or not phones, spurred by solver software debates, and excessive masking should be allowed at poker tables.
Speaking of gold, Malcolm Trayner captured his first WSOP bracelet in Event #5: $1,000 Mystery Millions for $1,000,000, while two other players scored million-dollar bounties. Unfortunately, their reactions were a bit subdued, much to the dismay of many in the poker community.
That said, two other players had boisterous celebrations when they pulled six-figure bounties. See them all in the latest episode as well as a winner interview with Trayner.
Finally, learn about other bracelet winners such as David Prociak and Simeon Spasov, get an update on the $25K Fantasy league, and see Jack Binion walk the halls of the Horseshoe and reminisce about 55 years of the WSOP!
