Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2024 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
The action will soon be starting in Event #27: $1,500 Big O at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. This three-day event will begin at 2 p.m. with 40-minute levels and 25,000 starting stacks. Play will continue for 15 blind levels or when the tournament is down to 15% of the field, whichever is first.
Players will get a 15-minute break every three blind levels, and no dinner break is scheduled for Day 1.
Day 2 will then resume on June 10 at 1 p.m. Levels will be 60 minutes on Day 2 and play will continue for another 10 levels, with a 60-minute dinner break slated for after Level 21 (approximately 7:30 p.m.). The Day 3 restart on June 11 has a TBD start time, and will play down to a champion.
Scott Abrams is the defending champion, having beat out 1,458 entries a year ago to win the inaugural $1,500 Big O tournament for $315,203. He defeated Robert Williamson III heads up to finish things off.
“I think maybe because it is my first bracelet, everyone wanted to support me, I am really thankful for them. At the WSOP there are so many different events to play, and they came on this day to watch me in a game where they don’t see what I have ninety percent of the time, so I’m really thankful," Abrams said upon winning the bracelet.
