Level 26 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Sonny Franco
Sonny Franco

With two players seeing a board of 10693 and about 900,000 in the middle, Sonny Franco bet 350,000 from the big blind and Manh Nguyen called from early position.

Franco bet another 350,000 on the 4 river and was once again called by Nguyen. Franco tabled A864 for two pair but Nguyen turned over 5432 for a straight to take the pot, leaving Franco with 600,000 behind.

Two hands later, Franco opened to 350,000 from the button and was called by Nguyen in the small blind and Mandy Calara in the big blind.

The flop came A109. Nguyen bet 200,000, Calara called and Franco folded, leaving just 150,000 behind. The two remaining players checked through the A turn leading to the 7 river where Nguyen check-folded to a 400,000 bet from Calara.

Franco moved in for his last 150,000 from the cutoff in the next hand and was called by Nguyen on the button, Calara in the small blind and Oshri Lahmani in the big blind.

All players checked through the flop, turn and river leading to a final board of AKK68.

Franco had Q986 for a small two pair. Nguyen tabled AJ103 for aces up and took the pot while Franco was sent to the rail one spot shy of making the unofficial final table.

In a preflop raising war, table short stack Amit Ben Yacov was the player at risk just before the blinds had gone up and he was up against Jonathan Bowers.

Amit Ben Yacov: AKJ8 All in
Jonathan Bowers: AAQ7

The J105 flop kept Ben Yacov with some outs and he was not drawing dead yet on the K turn when Bowers made broadway with the royal flush draw.

Ben Yacov already got up from his chair but could survive with a king or jack on the river. Instead, it was the 4 that followed and he bowed out in 11th place for $79,276.

They checked down the 8 turn and 7 river for Nakache to show the AJ72. Bowers had that beat with the AKQ8 to win the pot.

One table over, Mandy Calara raised it up and then got it in against Sonny Franco for 960,000 preflop.

Lahmani Forces Out Franco

Level 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

In a single-raised pot with 200,000 each in the middle to the Q83 flop, Kabeelan Rajamurthy checked out of the small blind and Oshri Lahmani bet 280,000 in the big blind. Sonny Franco as the initial raiser called and Rajamurthy folded.

Lahmani potted the 4 turn for 1,280,000 with few chips behind and Franco tank-folded.

"I have a very strong hand," Lahmani said and exposed the AQ106 for top pair and two flush draws.

Franco responded "kings with king-high flush draw" but never showed his cards.

Manh Nguyen then raised to 220,000 and Rajamurthy called on the button. Nguyen continued for 500,000 on the 843 flop to take it down.

"Top set," Lahmani in the small blind said and Nguyen replied "I had outs".

Adkins is Facing Resistance

Level 25 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Eelis Pärssinen won a showdown pot off Amit Ben Yacov to leave the latter shorter and chip leader Amit Ben Yacov then tried to apply pressure on the table. Jonathan Bowers limped in and so did David Benyamine. Adkins in the cutoff raised to 440,000 and Benyamine was the only caller.

The QJ4 flop was checked and Benyamine bet the pot on the 3 turn for 1,160,000 to take down the pot.

Adkins then opened to 200,000 for Elie Nakache and Bowers to call out of the blinds. The 552 flop saw Bowers with a lead for 320,000 and he won the pot.
