Elie Nakache raised to 200,000 and was called by Jonathan Bowers in the cutoff and Amit Ben Yacov in the big blind. The flop came A♠10♥4♠ and Ben Yacov reluctantly folded when Nakache bet 250,000 and Bowers called.
They checked down the 8♠ turn and 7♠ river for Nakache to show the A♥J♥7♦2♠. Bowers had that beat with the A♣K♦Q♥8♥ to win the pot.
One table over, Mandy Calara raised it up and then got it in against Sonny Franco for 960,000 preflop.
Sonny Franco: K♠K♦9♠6♥
Mandy Calara: A♦Q♦J♥10♠
The Q♠J♦3♥10♥5♥ board gave Franco a king-high straight for the double.
In a preflop raising war, table short stack Amit Ben Yacov was the player at risk just before the blinds had gone up and he was up against Jonathan Bowers.
Amit Ben Yacov: A♣K♦J♣8♦
Jonathan Bowers: A♠A♦Q♠7♦
The J♠10♦5♠ flop kept Ben Yacov with some outs and he was not drawing dead yet on the K♠ turn when Bowers made broadway with the royal flush draw.
Ben Yacov already got up from his chair but could survive with a king or jack on the river. Instead, it was the 4♥ that followed and he bowed out in 11th place for $79,276.
With two players seeing a board of 6♠Q♣6♥5♣J♥ and about 900,000 in the middle, Jonathan Bowers bet 550,000 from the small blind and David Benyamine called.
Bowers tabled A♦K♠10♣3♦ for a bluff while Benyamine turned over Q♦9♥5♥2♥ for two pair to take the pot.
With two players seeing a board of 10♥6♣9♦3♠ and about 900,000 in the middle, Sonny Franco bet 350,000 from the big blind and Manh Nguyen called from early position.
Franco bet another 350,000 on the 4♠ river and was once again called by Nguyen. Franco tabled A♦8♠6♥4♦ for two pair but Nguyen turned over 5♠4♣3♥2♥ for a straight to take the pot, leaving Franco with 600,000 behind.
Two hands later, Franco opened to 350,000 from the button and was called by Nguyen in the small blind and Mandy Calara in the big blind.
The flop came A♦10♦9♠. Nguyen bet 200,000, Calara called and Franco folded, leaving just 150,000 behind. The two remaining players checked through the A♣ turn leading to the 7♥ river where Nguyen check-folded to a 400,000 bet from Calara.
Franco moved in for his last 150,000 from the cutoff in the next hand and was called by Nguyen on the button, Calara in the small blind and Oshri Lahmani in the big blind.
All players checked through the flop, turn and river leading to a final board of A♥K♠K♦6♠8♥.
Franco had Q♦9♦8♠6♣ for a small two pair. Nguyen tabled A♣J♠10♦3♠ for aces up and took the pot while Franco was sent to the rail one spot shy of making the unofficial final table.
With the recent elimination of Sonny Franco, the field has been reduced to the final nine players and they are now being moved to the right side feature table. They will play the remaining 45 minutes left of the level before heading into the dinner break.
Elie Nakache limped in and Mandy Calara raised to 300,000. Chip leader Joshua Adkins in the big blind potted to 1,050,000 and Calara was the only caller.
On a flop of 9♦3♦2♣, Adkins bet the pot and Calara called all-in for the rest of it with some 14 blinds behind.
Mandy Calara: A♦K♦J♥2♦
Joshua Adkins: A♥A♠10♣6♥
The 6♣ turn and 9♥ river failed to improve Calara and he was eliminated in ninth place for $100,917.
