Mercier Knocks Seidel to Crumbs

Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel got their chips in before the draw, with Seidel drawing one from the small blind and Mercier standing pat in the cutoff.

Seidel paired up with another 7x, and was left with less than a big blind after the stacks had been counted.

Kihara Still Among Top

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

Alex Foxen raised to 12,000 on the button, Naoya Kihara called in the small blind, and Billy Baxter did so in the big blind.

Kihara drew one, Baxter two, and, much to the surprise of Kihara and Baxter, Foxen drew three cards.

Kihara then bet 30,000 after the draw and received a call from Baxter. Foxen did not get three good cards and mucked, after which Kihara showed 9x7x6x5x4x for the winning hand.

Betil Draws to Best Hand

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

A pot between Jeremy Ausmus and Bariscan Betil was picked up with 40,000 in the pot, as the two players were drawing.

Betil drew one card, while Ausmus stood pat.

After the draw Betil bet out 32,000. Ausmus mulled over his decision for over a minute and decided to make the call. Betil showed 9x8x5x4x2x and Ausmus threw his hand in the muck, giving the pot to Betil.

Smith Three-Bet Jams

Arriving after the draws, Dan Smith had bet 15,000 chips and Arthur Morris raised to 64,000. Smith then tanked for a while before announcing his all-in, covering Morris' remaining stack of 184,000.

Morris took some time to think of his own before folding.

"Wow! Only Dan Smith," Phil Hellmuth commented after the hand.

Funkhouser Shows the Bluff

Shaun Deeb raised to 12,000 from middle position and was called by David Funkhouser in the big blind.

Funkhouser drew two cards, and Deeb drew one.

Funkhouser checked to Deeb who bet out 26,000. After giving it some thought, Funkhouser raised all in. Deeb quickly folded and showed 7x7x before mucking his hand. As Funkhouser was taking in the pot he showed 9x9x for a bigger pair.

Betil Pays It Off

Bariscan Betil defended his big blind against a raise of 18,000 from Max Kruse, who sat under the gun.

Betil drew two cards and Kruse drew one, after which Betil checked. Kruse bet 18,000 chips and Betil called after some thinking time.

Kruse showed 10x8x6x5x2x for a ten-eight and Betil mucked his cards in defeat.

Shaun Deeb opened from the cutoff to 12,000 and was called by the big blind Chris Hundley.

Hundley drew two cards and Deeb drew one.

Hundley checked to Deeb who bet 40,000. Hundley wasted no time making the call. Deeb showed him 8x7x6x5x2x as Hundley showed Deeb 9x5x before tossing his hand into the muck.
