Davenport Gets Paid on the River
Level 28
: Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Action picked up on the turn in a large pot that was brewing between Damarjai Davenport in the small blind and Adrian Mateos in the big blind.
With well over 500,000 in the pot and the board reading 3♦8♦3♠Q♠, Davenport led out with a bet of 375,000 and Mateos called.
On the A♣ river, Davenport led out again, this time for 850,000. After an intense stare down between the two players, Mateos eventually made the call and saw the bad news when Davenport tabled A♦K♠.
