Xu Plummets While Heinzmann Soars to the Top of the Counts

Level 21
Qiang Xu
Qiang Xu

Qiang Xu, who was chip leading the tournament with nearly 1,000,000 less than one hour ago, was recently eliminated from the tournament after several massive pots in quick succession.

According to his former tablemates, Xu doubled up Joseph Heinzmann in a massive Pot-Limit Omaha hand worth nearly 900,000 chips. Xu then payed off Heinzmann in a hand of 2-7 Triple draw where Heinzmann made a wheel. That hand left Xu short-stacked and he was eliminated by Brian Haveson shortly afterwards.

Wong Eliminated in Massive Triple Draw Hand

Level 21

2-7 Triple Draw

Action was picked up just before the first draw with five bets having already gone in from each player. Laura Born was in the big blind and drew two, Timothy Wong was all in for just under 70,000 from the cutoff and drew one and Carlos Chadha-Villamarin stood pat.

Born bet after the first draw and was called by Chadha-Villamarin, who stood pat while Born drew another two and Wong drew one.

After the second draw Born bet and Chadha-Villamarin called, again standing pat while Born and Wong both drew one.

With no draws remaining Born checked and Chadha-Villamarin, who had exactly 2,000 left, checked behind.

Born had bricked her wheel draw, ending up with 7x7x4x3x2x for a pair of sevens. Wong was drawing to an eight-low but ended up with Kx8x5x3x2x for king-high while Chadha-Villamarin had held up with 9x6x5x4x3x to nearly triple up while Wong was eliminated and made his exit.
