Albrinck Gets a Fold

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Aram Zobian opened to 120,000 on the button and Brad Albrinck defended in the big blind.

Action checked through the 878 flop to the 7 turn at which point Albrinck checked once more. Zobian fired off 150,000 and Albrinck called.

The A river saw Albrinck take over the betting lead by tossing 350,000 into the pot. Zobian thought for a moment, then mucked to put a small dent in his stack.

Rollercoaster of Emotions as Chen Doubles

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

Adrian Mateos opened 120,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos three-bet 375,000 on the button. Mateos responded with a four-bet jam and Chen called off his stack of 1,385,000.

James Chen: 99 All in
Adrian Mateos: AQ

It was a race and the QJ8 flop gave Mateos the lead with a pair of queens. However, the 9 fell on the turn, for Chen to make a set and the K river changed nothing.

Michael Rocco

Michael Rocco opened 120,000 in the hijack and only Fahredin Mustafov made the call from the big blind.

The Q fell on the turn and Mustafov checked again before Rocco fired 375,000 into the middle. Mustafov called.

The 6 completed the board on the river, and Mustafov check-called another bet, this time Rocco pushed 900,000 across the line.

Rocco tabled AA, and Mustafov mucked his hand.

Reard Flops Broadway to Double Through Zobian

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Brad Albrinck opened the hijack to 120,000 and Alexandre Reard three-bet from the cutoff to 300,000. Aram Zobian was in the big blind and shoved all in, which got Albrinck to fold, but Reard quickly called for his stack of 1,940,000.

Alexandre Reard: AK All in
Aram Zobian: AQ

Reard, who won this event last year, was in a great spot to double up and leap up the counts towards the summit. For a brief moment, Reard perhaps feared for his tournament life as he saw the Q10J flop which paired Zobian's queen, but gave Reard Broadway.

A 6 on the turn brought around some more chop opportunities but the 8 river was clean for Reard, who doubled up.

Albrinck Gets to Showdown

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Aram Zobian opened to 100,000 on the button and Brad Albrinck called in the big blind.

The 3K7 flop saw Albrinck check before calling a 85,000 continuation from Zobian.

Zobian bet again after Albrinck checked to him on the A turn, this time making it a hefty 380,000. Albrinck opted to flat to see a river.

Neither player put any more chips in the pot following the 5 river. Albrinck flipped over K4 for second pair, sufficient to take down a sizable pot.
