Lane was already ahead with his jacks preflop, and the 7♣7♦6♣ flop kept him firmly in the lead with no ace in sight. Vessey was still hoping to spike an ace, but the Q♠ turn changed nothing. The 5♣ river sealed her fate, eliminating her from the tournament as Lane scooped the pot.

Ngo Doubles Through Tumbas

On a board of 10♥3♦9♣, John Tumbas put all of his 27,000 chips across the betting line from under the gun, with Thanh Ngo calling for her last 22,000 from the cutoff. After Steven Nguyenpha folded the big blind, the cards were revealed.

Ngo was ahead with top pair and just had to fade Tumbas' overcards to survive. The 10♣ turn gave Ngo trips, guaranteeing she would double-up. The 7♠ hit the river, and the majority of Tumbas' stack was sent over to Ngo.

Woodside Bows Down to Pham Heat

Richard Schmitt opened to 1,500 from middle position and was met with a three-bet to 5,000 by Nikki Woodside in late position. Immediately to her left, Steven Nguyen Pham ramped up the pressure with a sizable four-bet to 13,000, putting the action back on Schmitt.

After a moment in the tank, Schmitt elected to fold. Woodside, unfazed, quickly made the call, taking the hand heads-up to the flop.

The dealer spread A♠5♦4♠. Woodside checked while locking eyes with Pham, perhaps searching for a read. But Pham remained expressionless as he fired out a bet of 11,000. After a brief pause, Woodside gave up the hand, and Pham dragged the pot without showing a card.
