Newberry Makes a Wheel and Gets Paid
Limits: 60,000-120,000
Anthony Arvidson opened from under the gun and received calls from David Margolis in the small blind and James Newberry in the big blind. Newberry drew two, Margolis drew one and Arvidson stood pat.
Action checked around to Arvidson who bet after the first draw. Margolis called before Newberry raised. Arvidson called, Margolis made it three bets and Newberry made it four bets. Both Arvidson and Margolis called. Margolis drew one while the other two players each stood pat.
After the second draw Margolis checked and Newberry bet. Arvidson called, Margolis raised, Newberry called and Arvidson called. All three players stood pat.
With no draws remaining Margolis bet and Newberry raised.
"Good Lord!" Arvidson commented, before folding his hand. Margolis called and showed a six-badugi with 6♣5♥2♦A♠. Newberry turned over a wheel with 4♦3♣2♠A♥ to drag in a massive pot.
Arvidson mentioned that he had folded a seven-badugi as Newberry was still stacking his chips.
