Foxen Stops the Hot Run of Davies for Now
Seth Davies limped in from the small blind with the A♥2♠ and then called a raise to 2,100,000 by Thomas Boivin, who had the superior kicker in A♦9♠. The tides changed with the 3♠3♣2♣ as the chip leader improved to treys and deuces.
Davies checked to Boivin who continued for 1,200,000 and picked up a call ahead of the J♥ turn, which was once again checked by Davies. This time, Boivin checked it back and both also checked the 4♦ river for Davies to claim another pot.
The next hand saw Davies raise the button to 1,350,000 with the A♣Q♥ and Alex Foxen defended his big blind with the J♦10♥ to take the lead on the J♣8♠4♦ flop. Foxen checked to Davies, who checked it back and they headed to the 7♦ on the turn. This time, Foxen bet 1,450,000 for Davies to call and the former improved to trips with the J♥ on the river.
Another bet worth 6,500,000 for the size of the pot followed and Davies folded.
