Roberts and Jolly Chop Up Whittemore

Level 11

Stud Hi-Lo

Kelly Whittemore: XxXx / 5Q37 / Xx
Christian Roberts: A53 / 4298
Bryan Jolly: Q10 / 9J23 / 7

Action was picked up on fourth as Jolly bet, Whittemore called, and Roberts threw in an array of red T-5,000 chips totaling 30,000. However, it was ruled that he could only raise to a maximum of 5,000, and both opponents called.

Fifth street checked through as Whittemore led on sixth, Roberts called, Jolly raised, and both opponents wanted to receive another card.

Whittemore led again on seventh, Roberts raised, Jolly called, and Whittemore called. Roberts tabled his wheel for the low as Jolly showed his flush for the high, as Whittemore could not salvage half the pot against two strong hands.

Choi Scoops Hall of Famers

Level 11

Omaha Hi-Lo

Brian Rast in middle position, Huck Seed in the cutoff, and Kevin Choi in the hijack went three-way to the 53A flop. It checked to Choi, who bet out.

Rast quickly folded, but Seed called. Seed check-called the 7 turn and 6 river as well, but mucked his cards when Choi tabled A642 for the nut low and a straight to the seven.

"What's Your Kicker"

Level 12

Stud Hi-Lo

Max Hoffman: 75Xx / A978
Bradley Smith: AK5 / 7J72

Smith completed, Hoffman raised, and Smith called.

Hoffman led on fourth and Smith called. Smith opted to check-call after making open sevens on fifth street.

Smith check-called again on sixth before seventh checked through. The hands were tabled as there was some minor confusion.

"What's your kicker?" asked Hoffman as it became apparent that both players shared a lone pair of sevens with no low. Smith's seven-seven-ace-king was best in a funny ending.

Obst Triples as Joe Departs

Level 12
James Obst
James Obst

Omaha Hi-Lo

Dean Joe was already all in when the 510J flop came on the table. James Obst then committed his stack of 13,400 from middle position, which was called by Jackson Spencer in the hijack and Anthony Ribeiro in the cutoff.

Spencer check-called Ribeiro's bet on the 8 turn to create a second side pot, after which the 8 river was checked by both.

Ribeiro tabled AJ105 for jacks and tens, winning him the secondary side pot.

The main pot and primary side pot went to Obst, however, who had made runner-runner trips with his AQ84, beating the AK92 of Joe as well, much to the frustration of Ribeiro.

Susan Genard: XxXx / Q10 - folded on fourth street

Battenfield Best in Four-Bet Pot; Kyte Goes Ranting

Level 12

Stud Hi-Lo

Christopher Battenfield: XxXx/AAJ5/Xx
Jon Kyte: 53/46KQ/9
Claude Marbleu: XxXx/37

Four bets had gone in on third street when Christopher Battenfield paired his door-card on fourth street and bet out. Jon Kyte called before Claude Marbleu tanked a bit and folded.

"Wow, we got him out! He finally folded!" Kyte rejoiced.

Battenfield and Kyte then checked fifth street before Kyte called Battenfield's bet on sixth street. Battenfield bet again on seventh street, and Kyte revealed his two hole cards, claiming he "would raise if I hit."

Instead, Kyte peeled the 9 and threw his cards into the muck. "Why did you fold?" he asked Marbleu.

Marbleu reminded Kyte that he wanted him to fold just moments earlier, to which Kyte responded: "Yeah, but now I have a sh*t hand."
