Russel Gives Up Half of Short Stack

Gregory Russell pushed in his last chips on the 6Q3 flop, putting his total stack of 22,000 all-in. Ken Aldridge called, and the cards were flipped up.

Russel's two pair was counterfeited on the 5 turn. Aldridge made the better low on the 2 river, and Shaun Deeb immediately stated, "three-quarters to 'Teach.'"

The self-proclaimed sports betting guru arrived on Monday to enter Day 2 of the largest buy-in tournament at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He lost all of his chips about five minutes after he sat down. But he'll have an opportunity to win it all back soon (or lose more).

Smith Scoops Salem

In a blind-on-blind battle, Ed Smith checked from the small blind on the Q582 turn. Raed Salem then bet, Smith raised, and Salem called.

The 8 fell on the river, seeing Smith toss in another bet. Salem made a quick call for Smith to table AQ103 for the nut low and two pair. Salem did not claim any part of the pot as he mucked his hand.

Glaser's Set of Jacks

Action was picked up on the flop in a three way pot between Christina Hill under the gun, Benny Glaser on the button, and Robert Wells in the big blind.

The flop rolled out J39 and action checked around to Glaser who bet and Wells raised. Hill folded while Glaser called.

Wells bet on the 7 turn and Glaser raised which Wells called.

On the river Q, Wells checked over to Glaser who bet and Wells went into the tank before putting in the chips to call.

Glaser tabled AJJ6 for a set of jacks and Wells tapped the table while he tossed his hand into the muck.

Sandvik bet on fifth and sixth street with Jett calling him each time.

On seventh street, Sandvik bet and Jett raised which saw Sandvik think for a while before calling.

"Full house," said Jett.

"Me too," replied Sandvik who turned over 1073 for sevens full of tens which was good for the pot.

Sandvik Wins Pot Despite Giving Away Tell

Richard Bremer raised in the cutoff, after which Espen Sandvik three-bet from the big blind. Bremer called, and Sandvik nearly choked on a piece of food before he recovered and bet the Q210 flop.

"That must be a tell," Bremer joked as he tossed in a call. Sandvik also fired the 5 turn, again seeing Bremer call. He took some time on the J river, but eventually settled on another bet.

Bremer quickly called, leaving only 2,000 behind. Sandvik showed AQ32 for top and bottom pair, and he won the pot when Bremer added his cards to the muck.

"If he chokes, he has two pair," the dealer joked as he pushed Sandvik the chips.

Kyte Flying High

Action was picked up on the river with four and a half big bets in front of Jay Kerbel in the small blind and Jon Kyte.

The board read 96A4J and Kerbel checked over to Kyte who bet and Kerbel folded.

"How can you fold?" asked Kyte. "I have nut-nut."

He then revealed K32 for the nut flush and nut low as he took another chunk from the start of day chip leader.
