No player has commanded more attention at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) than Martin Kabrhel, partly for his strong performance, but mostly for his antics.
The clock has been called on the Czech high roller more often this summer than the Paris Hotel parking garage attendant, and he's been yapping away so much at the poker tables that even Daniel Negreanu had enough during a recent final table appearance.
Ed Smith called while Ryan Hughes completed which saw Gus Hansen, Dylan Smith, and Smith all call.
Gus Hansen: XxXx/6♦J♠7♠Q♣/Xx
Dylan Smith: XxXx/2♠3♠10♥Q♠/Xx
Ryan Hughes: XxXx/5♣9♥Q♥J♥(Folded on sixth street)
Ed Smith: XxXx/7♥9♦K♠(Folded on fifth street)
On fourth street, Hansen checked over to Dylan who bet, which saw three callers.
Fifth street saw Ed take the lead and opt to check over to Hughes who checked behind. Hansen bet this time and Dylan called while Ed folded with Hughes calling behind.
Hughes checked over to Hansen who bet and only Smith called on sixth street.
Hansen bet once more on seventh street and the two players tabled their hands.
"No pair," said Hansen who turned over A♠10♠8♥ for ace-queen high. It was good for half of the pot as Smith turned over 8♣6♥4♦ for an eight-six low to take the low half of the pot.
Steven Wendroff: 9♣2♠/7♣2♣7♠A♣/3♠
Lynda Tran: 7♥4♠/8♠Q♣9♦10♣/J♥
Shane Daniels: A♠4♦/6♠Q♥9♥3♥/9♠
Steven Wendroff had gone all in at an earlier point in the hand when Lynda Tran and Shane Daniels were heads up on sixth street. Tran checked before she called off her last chips as well.
Trang hit her straight draw, making the best high. Daniels missed his low draw, and Wendroff did not improve his full house, seeing Tran scoop the pot.
The table commented on how the upcards on third were 5♠4♠3♠2♠A♠ spread out among the table. Jon Kyte completed which saw Tobias Hausen and Paul Edwards call.
Jon Kyte: XxXx/A♠J♠8♠7♣/Xx
Tobias Hausen: XxXx/J♥8♣K♥6♦/Xx
Paul Edwards: XxXx/2♠Q♠9♠7♠/Xx
Kyte checked to Hausen on fourth street who bet and got two callers.
On fifth street, Kyte checked a second time over to Hausen who bet and Edwards called. Kyte raised all in and Hausen raised which saw Edwards call.
Both players checked on sixth street and seventh street saw Hausen bet and Edwards call.
Hausen turned over J♥J♣6♠ for jacks full of sixes for high and Edwards tabled 5♣4♣3♣ for a seven-five low. Kyte turned over 4♥2♣ as he sweat his last cards which turned out to be a 5♦ which was good for Kyte to take the low half and survive.
Bob Slezak had gone all in preflop from middle position. Steve Chanthabouasy under the gun and Gabriel Ramos in the big blind were also in the pot, and they checked through the 5♠4♦Q♦ flop.
Chanthabouasy then led out on the J♥ turn, seeing Ramos put in a call. The Q♠ river was checked down again.
Chantabouasy showed down A♥K♠J♠3♥ for queens and jacks, beating the J♣10♦7♦4♥ of Ramos and the A♣10♣6♦3♣ of Slezak, taking down the pot and sending the latter to the rail.
Shaun Deeb checked the 6♦4♦6♣ flop over to Jon Turner, who bet. Gary Benson then raised, Deeb called, and Turner called as well. Benson bet again on the 9♣ turn, seeing both his opponents check-call.
The 8♥ river was checked to showdown. Deeb showed 6♠5♥5♦3♦ for trip sixes, and Turner tabled A♠A♦9♦3♥ for the second-nut low.
Benson's hand was apparently not good for either part of the pot as he tossed them into the muck, seeing the pot split between Deeb and Turner.
Gus Hansen: XxXx/5♦4♥Q♦3♠
Ed Smith: XxXx/6♠K♠3♥J♦- folded sixth street
Gus Hansen completed, and Ed Smith was the only caller. Smith check-called Hansen's bet on fourth street before he led out on fifth street.
Hansen was not satisfied with the amount and raised, which Smith called. Hansen then caught his third open low card on sixth street, causing Smith to check-fold to another barrel.
Three-way to a flop of 9♣6♦Q♠, Shirley Rosario checked from the small blind to Jun Weng in the big blind, who bet out. Steven Wendroff called in the cutoff, as did Rosario.
The 4♥ turn then checked to the 5♥ river, where Rosario led out. Weng folded quickly, but Wendroff called off.
Rosario tabled A♠6♠3♠2♥ for the nut low and a straight to the six, and scooped the pot when Wendroff mucked his cards.
