Taylor Eliminates Liore; Play Slows on Pay Jumps
A more than $2,500 pay jump loomed as the next hand unfolded.
Carl Carodenuto raised to 225,000 and Julien Loire raised pseudo all in, leaving himself a single 100,000 chip behind. In what appeared to be a courtesy to the table, Taylor tanked for an extended period of time before opting to just call.
The folds were slow to make it around the table and clock was called on the big blind. Several other tables had similar scenes unfolding and clock was called around the room.
After the big blind folded, Carodenuto folded.
The dealer presented 8♣3♥J♣ and Loire quietly requested that he be able to ponder his decision until the amount of players dwindled by one more. Once he secured the ladder, he stuck his last 100,000 in. Taylor called.
Julien Loire: Q♣Q♠
Samuel Taylor: K♣K♠
Loire was drawing to two outs but they didn't materialize as the 9♣ and 2♣ completed the board.
