Just over two hours after late registration closed, the tournament reached hand-for-hand play with 236 players remaining and only 235 spots making the money. It took just three hands for the bubble to burst. In a rare outcome, Yuan Li, Tolga Demirel, and Niema Mostafavi were all eliminated on the same hand and ended up splitting the final payout. This meant Luis Calvo was the official bubble boy in 237th place.

Other notables making it through include two-time bracelet winner Bruno Furth (761,000), who is enjoying a stellar 2025 WSOP with one bracelet win and a runner-up finish already. Also advancing to Day 2 are Rajesh Vohra (644,000), Bryce Yockey (593,000), Thailand’s Punnat Punsri (385,000), three-time bracelet winner Sean Troha (318,000), Patrick Moulder (259,000), Davidi Kitai (139,000), and Christian Harder (30,000), who ran into Furth’s nut boat on one of the final hands of the night to end the day among the shortest stacks.

The second day of this three-day affair kicks off at 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, June 19. Players will return to blinds of 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante, and from this point forward, all levels will be 60 minutes in length for the rest of the tournament.

With over half the field having hit the rail since the money bubble burst, everyone coming back is guaranteed at least $3,406 for their efforts. Now, their sights are set on the $306,791 top prize and the coveted gold bracelet awaiting the winner.

Harder went into the tank for quite some time, as raise was for the majority of Harder's stack. In the end, Harder called and was shown a boat by Furth with 10987. Harder mucked, and the huge pot was sent over to Furth.

Bubble Bursts in PLO 8-Max

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tolga Demirel was all in preflop for his remaining 22,000, and was called by both Daniel Clemente and Maxwell Lytell.

On a flop of 6Q6 Lytell checked, Clemente bet 35,000, and Lytell called. The turn 8 checked through, and Lytell bet 50,000 on the 4 river. Clemente called, and the players revealed their cards early, despite floor instruction not to.

Eventually, when showdown was called. Demirel's AA1010 wasn't enough to keep him alive, as Lytell scooped with A863. Two other players, Niema Mostafavi and Yuan Li, were eliminated in the same hand, meaning they received a $2,015 payout each.

Aasen Miraculously Survives

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With Michael Linster forced all-in for his last 2,000 from the big blind, four other players at the table limped.

The four other players checked a runout of 48536 all the way to the river before Michael Linster bet 10,000 from the small blind. Everyone else folded and before the cards were turned over Aasen announced her hadn't looked at his hand.

Linster revealed a flush with AQJ2, which meant Aasen needed to have two diamonds in his hand, where one of them was the king or the ace. He decided to turn his cards over one at a time to add to the suspense.

With a crowd now surrounding the table, the first one he showed was the K to give him a chance of not being the bubble boy. However, the second cut his chances as it was the K. But the third of his cards was the 9 to give him a higher flush, guaranteeing he remained in the tournament and had a chance of not bubbling. The table erupted upon seeing his flush, as his fourth card was the 9.

Linster stated after the hand "that is the most fun I've had in a hand where I've lost"

King With a Big Stack

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Caleb King
Caleb King

After the most recent break, Caleb King has emerged as one of the biggest stacks with 508,000 chips. King is from the United States and boasts over $700,000 in live tournament earnings, with his biggest cash being $96,309. King's best result in a World Series of Poker event came in 2024 after he finished 14th in a $800 No Limit Hold'em event.

King has built up quite the stack heading into the money bubble, so if he can build on this momentum for the rest of the night, he will certainly be able to bring through a healthy stack for Day 2 and have a good chance of making his first WSOP final table.
