Defoe Cracks Kings for Huge Double-Up

Angela Defoe was seen dragging in a sizable pot after having double up through Lucas Pochat. With her cards still face up at showdown, she held A♠K♠ on a runout of 2♣5♦4♣9♥3♣ for a rivered wheel.

Steven Jones caught up with PokerNews to give a quick recap of the hand. According to Jones, Pochat opened the action with a raise to 100,000, Defoe flatted, and next to act was Romain Lewis who three-bet to about 350,000. Pochat then four-bet to around 700,000, and Defoe five-bet shoved all in for 1,950,000 to put herself at risk. Lewis folded and Pochat called with pocket kings.

Kunal Patni raised to 200,000 from first position and Cesar Del Pino called in the cutoff which saw all other players fold.

The flop rolled out K♦A♥9♦ and Patni continue for 200,000 which Del Pino called.

Patni sized up on the turn 5♣ to the tune of 650,000 and Del Pino called a second time.

On the river Q♦, Patni bet 1,700,000 and Del Pino went into the tank.

After some time in the tank, he put in the chips to call and mucked after seeing Patni turn over J♦10♦ for a king-high straight flush. Patni eclipsed nine million and Del Rio dipped down to under two million.

Action was folded to Steven Jones, who made up from the small blind, and Paawan Bansal checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came 7♥6♠A♦, and Jones led out for 120,000, and Bansal called, and the players saw the 4♠ drop on the turn.

Jones led out gain but for 500,000 this time, and again Bansal flat called. The river brought the K♦, and now Jones bet 1,100,000, leaving himself 1,100,000 behind. Bansal went into the tank for a while before he announced that he was all in and had Jones covered.

Now Jones went deeper and deeper into the tank, asking himself various questions and trying to work out what Bansal could be holding. He eventually put in his remaining chips and slammed over 7♣6♥ for two pair. Bansal sheepishly turned over 5♣4♣ for bottom pair, and the pot was shipped to Jones, giving him a full double-up.
