Ren Lin raised to 600,000 in the cutoff and Hamid Toghyan moved all in on the button to put himself at risk. Lin asked for a count and the dealer confirmed that the bet was 7,850,00. Lin elected to make the call with the covering stack.
Hamid Toghyan: 8♥8♣
Ren Lin: 10♦10♥
There were no eights to be found on the runout of 3♣9♠J♥K♠7♠ and Toghyan's impressive tournament run came to an end.
The remaining two tables will now combine for the unofficial ten-handed final table.
Steven Jones raised to 600,000 preflop, both Kunal Patni and Steven Jones both called from the blinds.
The flop scrolled across 2♥4♠10♠ and both blinds checked before facing a bet of 800,000 from Jones. Panti responded with a raised to 2,150,000 and Richard quickly folded.
Jones weighed his options before eventually pushing hand forward and surrendering the pot to Patni.
With every elimination representing a massive pay jump, play has slowed as major confrontations seem to be avoided.
Paawant Bansal is the current shortest stack at the table (4,200,000) with just over ten big blinds and the chip leading, Ren Lin (20,575,000) has over 50 big blinds. All players are still well in contention all things considered.
Fabrizio Gonzalez raised to 800,000 in late position and Steven Jones three-bet shoved in the cutoff for 6,375,000. Yilong Wang reshoved in the small blind for 13,500,000 to isolate and Gonzalez got out of the way.
Steven Jones: A♥Q♠
Yilong Wang: A♠K♦
The flop came 6♠6♣K♥, with Wang pulling further into the lead with two pair, kings and sixes.
Jones needed some help but couldn't find any as the board ran out 7♠, 2♣ to end his tournament run.
Yilong Wang raised to 1,200,000 in middle position and Paawan Bansal three-bet to about 2,500,000, leaving himself with just 600,000 behind. Action folded back around to Wang who four-bet all in and Bansal called off his remaining stack to put himself at risk.
Paawan Bansal: K♦Q♦
Yilong Wang: A♥J♥
It was a fair fight, but Wang pulled ahead further on the 10♦A♣10♠ flop, improving to two pair, aces and tens.
Bansal still had outs with running diamonds or a jack but was unable to get there when the board ran out 6♥, 2♥.
Seunghyun Nam raised to 1,200,000 in early position and Fabrizio Gonzalez raised to 2,600,000. Yuliyan Kolev responded with an all in of 7,800,000 and Nam folded.
Gonzalez looked over at his opponent who was on his feet and dancing. "Shakira time! Lady Gaga, I'm Shakira!". Gonzalez pushed his hand in the muck and Kolev chipped up after his shimmy.
Ren Lin had just gotten an open jam through the hand before to steal the blinds from the shorter stacks on his left and he did it again just one hand later, pushing forward his 'No Gamble, No Future' sticker to indicate he was all in.
Kunal Patni shrugged in the small blind and pushed forward his chips to call.
Kunal Patni: K♥Q♥
Ren Lin: Q♣10♣
The flop kept Patni in the lead as it scrolled across K♣A♠Q♠, meaning Lin was looking to make a straight to pull ahead. Patni secured the double and the board completed with the 2♥ and the 5♣.
Action folded around to Jason Richard in the small blind who moved all in for 3,000,000 to put himself at risk. Fabrizio Gonzalez looked down at his cards in the big blind and made the call.
Jason Richard: 6♠2♠
Fabrizio Gonzalez: A♦2♥
Richard picked up a little bit of help on the Q♦3♣5♣ flop with outs to a gutshot.
However, the K♦ turn and J♠ river were blanks and he was sent to the rail.
Ran Ilani raised to 1,200,000 on the button and Ren Lin three-bet shoved in the big blind to put Ilani at risk. Ilani thought for a moment before making the call with 10,500,000 behind.
Ran Ilani: A♦Q♥
Ren Lin: A♣J♣
The flop came 8♠K♥6♥ with Ilani's ace-queen still out in the lead. The turn landed the 4♦ and the river brought the A♥, earning Ilani the big double up.
Ran Ilani raised to 1,200,000 and Ren Lin responded with a raise to 10,500,000, leaving himself a few million behind.
Fabrizio Gonzalez grew agitated at Seunghyun Nam who was in the small blind, taking his time on his decision. Gonzalez called clock saying, "I know what you're doing, you're constantly looking at the clock.", indicating that Nam was slowing down the hand so that blinds would increase when he was on the button, as the level was about to go up. Nam mucked before the floor came over to count down the clock.
Lin and another player at the table chirped in saying that the player in the small blind hadn't taken an egregious amount of time by any means, instead pointing the finger at Ilani, who they accused of the same thing. Gonzalez went on to say he knew that Ilani wasn't calling and that he had given him plenty of time when he had real decisions.
Fabrizio Gonzalez
"That's not nice, man", said Gonzalez who went on to say he'd be more vigilant about calling the clock on these two players in particular, going as far as asking the floor how long he'd have to wait to call clock. Floor said two minutes unless it became a constant issue, in which case they'd lower the threshold.
Ilani eventually mucked his hand, showing the A♦ but Gonzalez made mention that it didn't prove he had an actual decision.
Lin collected the pot and the next pitch began with Gonzalez reiterating his sentiments.
