Set Over Set in Foxen's Favor

Level 14 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Three players saw the flop come out Q86. Alex Foxen checked from the small blind and Aaron Katz bet 200,000 from the big blind. Phil Ivey called from the hijack, before Foxen check-raised to 1,000,000 with 510,000 behind. Katz potted it back, which forced Ivey to fold. Foxen called the remainder of his stack, and the cards were turned over.

Alex Foxen: AQQ3 All in
Aaron Katz: 9887

It was a set over set situation, but Foxen was in the lead with the higher set. However, Katz did have a straight draw. The 2 turn and 2 river only improved Foxen to the nut boat, earning him the huge double-up near the money bubble.
