Deusing Stacks Steeves and Doubles Up

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Vaughn Steeves kicked things off with a raise to around 615,000 in middle position, leaving himself just 5,000 behind. Johannes Deusing in the hijack then went all-in. Ryo Kotake on the button then asked for a count and once the dealer confirmed 1,785,000 for Deusing's stack, he made the call. Steeves put in his last chip, leading to a showdown.

Vaughn Steeves: 33All in
Johannes Deusing: AKAll in
Ryo Kotake: QQ

Kotake was leading with a potential to eliminate two players, but the 5KA gave Deusing top two pair. The 9 turn opened up a potential flush for Steeves, but the 6 sealed the deal for Deusing, allowing him to double up and sending Steeves packing.

Shi Continues to Sun Run

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Honghao Shi raised on the button, and it was enough to cover Frederick Mends' stack in the small blind. Mends called, and the cards were revealed.

Frederick Mends: A9 All in
Honghao Shi: AJ

The flop was a spicy one, bringing JJ4, but the turn A ended most of the suspense, and the Q river eliminated Mends.

According to his tablemates, Shi was down to 300,000 chips not long ago but has won a few all ins consecutively to now wield a large stack.

Song Ended Before it Was Over

Level 31 : Blinds 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

Shuo Song lost a huge pot that left him with five big blinds just before his table broke. Song, possibly believing he had busted out of the tournament, walked away without racking his chips and didn't move to his new seat.

Meanwhile, his chips sat in for two rotations before he blinded out.

The hand he blinded out on was big one, as Wai Kit Lo and James Kim battled over chips.

Kim raised the invisible blind players — Antonio Guerrero, who was in the big blind, was late returning from the break — to 500,000. Lo called.

The flop came 2K9 and Kim fired a bet of 1,000,000 chips. Lo called again.

The turn of the 3 drew a check from Kim. Lo thought for some time, then bet 2,000,000. Kim folded.

After Darrin Oremba doubled through the same player a few hands before, he found himself in an all-in situation with Quentin Girardet again, this time with Girardet at risk.

Darrin Oremba: AK

The flop came down safe for Girardet with 372. But Oremba hit the K on the turn, giving him a better pair. The 3 river sealed the deal for Oremba, and after losing two big hands, Girardet was eliminated while Oremba secured a spot in the top chip counts in the current state of the tournament.
