Richard Harroch waited patiently, but now the time had come for him to go all-in for his last 800,000 under the gun. Action folded to Davis Modans on the button, who raised the pot to 3,300,000, but nobody else wanted to join the party, and the cards went on their backs.
Richard Harroch: A♠10♠7♥4♠
Davis Modans: A♦K♦Q♥9♠
Harroch was behind, but the board ran out 2♥5♣K♠3♠7♦, giving Harroch a straight and a much-needed double-up.
In the very next hand, the same two opponents clashed again, and Harroch was all-in pre-flop once more.
Richard Harroch: K♣K♥8♣3♣
Davis Modans: J♥10♥5♦3♦
This time, Harroch was ahead, and he stayed there as the board showed 7♥K♠9♣A♣A♠, giving Harroch a full house and another still-needed double-up.
