Anze Smajd Eliminated in 14th Place ($31,684)

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Anze Smajd
Anze Smajd

Anze Smajd managed to squeeze a lot of value during the waning moments of his tournament run.

Smajd had a peculiar finish to his run. Smajd crashed into Vitalijs Zavorotnijs in hand earlier that left him with only 75,000 that he left behind after he raised to 2,300,000 from the cutoff over the top of Zavorotnijs, who raised from early position. Smajd and Zavorotnijs checked it down on the 62856 board with the 75,000 in chips lingering in Smajd's stack.

This was significant because it enabled Smajd to ladder up to the next payout level and earn a higher prize when he busted minutes later in 14th place.

Smajd earned $31,684 for his finish.
