Gruneberg and Ju Chop the Bubble

Level 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Zachary Gruneberg opened to 30,000 in middle position, and Arieori Miller announced all in on his left. Gruneberg took some time before sticking in the call, and the hands were turned up.

Zachary Gruneberg: AK All in
Arieori Miller: A8

Miller was trailing until the 893 flop, finding a pair to take the lead. Both players hit the A turn, while Gruneberg whiffed on the 5 river to end his tournament.

At the same time, Xi Chen opted to go all-in from the cutoff for 340,000. It folded to Samuel Ju in the big blind, who called to put himself at risk for 50,000 total.

Samuel Ju: AAAll in
Xi Chen: KJ

Ju was way ahead preflop, but the flop changed that in a hurry when it came 4J7 to give Chen top pair and a flush draw.

The K turn was not a welcome sight for Ju, who was now significantly behind in the hand. The 10 river upgraded Chen to a flush to knock out Ju.

With Gruneberg and Ju eliminated on the same hand, they chopped the first payout spot to earn $3,375 each.
