Still in a Good Run

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

George Tomescu found himself in an odd situation where he's lucky to continue his tournament run but can't seem to build a good enough stack to relax despite getting two pocket pairs.

In a pre-flop all-in showdown with Andrew Yee, Tomescu felt hopeful about his odds when the hands were revealed.

George Tomescu: KK All in
Andrew Yee: AJ

The board ran 781066 and with no ace in sight, Tomescu doubled up building his stack to around 1,250,000 to continue his tournament run.

A couple of hands later, he was in another all-in showdown but this time against Tzur Levy.

Tzur Levy: AJ All in
George Tomescu: QQ

Levy's queens held on the flop of 329 and was looking to build his stack further with a chance to eliminate. But the turn A came pushing Levy ahead and to secure Levy's double up, the J was dealt on the river giving Levy a two pair.

Despite winning the hand and staying in the tournament, Levy had to ask Yee, "You said he was on a good run?" Tomescu calm told Levy not to say that as he was still in a good run.
